Unsure? Ask us
What are you moving?

We will suggest a vehicle from this. You can change it on the next step.

The rate card

Hourly rates are set by the vehicle and the number of movers on it. Distance is charged separately, per mile.

We publish 2 of 20 rates online. The rest are priced over the phone, and they are listed below so you can see exactly which ones.

These sit between the two we publish. We hold rates for all of them — they are simply not on the site yet.

  • Luton Box Van

    900 cu ft · 3-hour minimum

Hourly, or a fixed price?

Both are built from the same rate card. Which one suits you is about how much certainty you want, not which is cheaper.

Hourly

Pay for the time it takes

Best for smaller moves or flexible timing — the rate is fixed, the total depends on how long loading and unloading actually take.

  • Set by vehicle and crew size
  • Billed for hours worked, against the vehicle minimum
  • Distance added per mile
See hourly rates

Fixed price

Know the total upfront

Best for a full house move where you want the cost settled before moving day, whatever time it actually takes.

  • Set by property size, not hours
  • Packing and the move bought together
  • The total doesn't change if the day runs long

Stairs

Charged per property, so a third-floor flat to a second-floor flat carries both. A working lift means no stair charge.

Stair charges by floor
Ground floorIncluded
First floorIncluded
Second floor£20
Third floor£40
Fourth floor£60
Fifth floor and above£20 per additional floor

Dismantling and reassembly

Charged per item rather than by the hour, so it does not inflate the rate for people who do not need it.

Furniture dismantling prices per item
Single bed£15
Double bed£20
King bed£25
Super king bed£30
Ottoman bed£40
Bunk bed£50
WardrobeBy number of doors£35 – £60
Dining table£20
Desk£25 – £35

Fixed-price packing and moving

For a whole property, packing and the move can be bought together at a fixed price by bedroom count, instead of by the hour.

Before you compare it to anything

Removals quotes are hard to compare because firms include different things. Here is exactly what is in ours.

In the price

  • Goods in Transit cover
  • Public Liability cover
  • Bubble wrap, shrink wrap and tape
  • Wardrobe cartons and furniture blankets
  • A named move coordinator

Charged separately

  • Furniture dismantling and reassembly, per item
  • Stairs above the first floor, per floor, at each property
  • Anything added on the day

What moves the number

  • Hours actually worked, against the vehicle minimum
  • Distance — every vehicle has its own per-mile rate
  • A bigger vehicle or an extra pair of hands
  • VAT treatment, which we confirm when we quote

Common questions about price

Rates and extra charges

Will there be extra charges I don't find out about until moving day?
A few things are priced separately so the base hourly rate stays honest for people who don't need them — furniture dismantling (from £15 an item) and anything above the first floor (from £20 a floor). Both are published in full below, not held back until you book.See available rates
How is a move priced?
By the hour, at a rate set by the vehicle and the number of movers, plus a per-mile distance charge. There is a two-hour minimum on the vans and three hours on the Luton, 5.5 tonne and 7.5 tonne lorries.See available rates
Do you charge extra for stairs?
Ground and first floor are included. Above that there is a flat charge per floor at each property: £20 for the second, £40 for the third, £60 for the fourth, and £20 per floor beyond that. A working lift means no stair charge.See available rates
Is furniture dismantling included?
No, it is charged separately per item at a published rate, from £15 for a single bed. That keeps the hourly rate honest for customers who do not need it.See available rates

Insurance and inclusions

Is insurance included in the price?
Yes. Goods in Transit and Public Liability cover are included as standard on every move, along with packing materials and a named move coordinator.See what is included
