Changing or cancelling a move

Tell the removal company as soon as your date or circumstances change. The exact rights, fees and options depend on the contract and the work already arranged.

Start with your booking terms

Check the written quote, booking confirmation and terms supplied for your move. They should explain the agreed service, price, date, payment arrangements and any conditions for changing or ending the booking. This page does not set AFS cancellation fees, notice periods or refund terms.

Give clear information

When contacting the company, provide your booking reference, original move date, the change you need and the best way to reach you. Ask for confirmation of any revised date, price or other effect on the booking in writing.

If you need independent advice

Consumer rights can depend on how and when a service was agreed, what has already been provided and the contract terms. UK Government guidance explains that cancellation terms must be fair; use the official resources below or seek independent advice for your circumstances.
