About 15.9 m³ of load space, a 4.5 m cargo length and a payload of about 1,100 kg, booked self loading or with one, two or three movers.

Removal load space is often quoted in cubic metres, and UK removal firms usually use cubic feet. The table gives both for each AFS vehicle. The cubic metre figure is the cubic feet capacity multiplied by 0.0283168 and rounded to one decimal place.

These are load-space capacities. Internal length, width and height are not published here, so measure an oversized item and ask us before booking.
Which driving licence does a van or lorry need?
If you are thinking of driving a van or lorry yourself, the weight matters more than the name. GOV.UK says a category B licence covers vehicles with a maximum authorised mass (MAM) of up to 3,500 kg, and category C1 covers vehicles between 3,500 kg and 7,500 kg. So a 7.5 tonne lorry needs a category C1 licence, while a smaller van under 3,500 kg does not. Check the MAM on the vehicle’s plate or paperwork rather than assuming from its size.

If you are between two sizes, take the larger one. A second trip costs more than the bigger vehicle did, and on a long move it costs the whole day.
