A move to Gran Canaria is packed and loaded by the same crew that turns up at your door in the UK. Nothing is handed to a third party at the point where things usually go missing.

Goods in Transit and Public Liability cover apply to a Gran Canaria move exactly as they do to a move across town, and packing materials are included either way. One coordinator owns the job from the first call to the last box.

Packing matters more on a long run

Breakages on long journeys are rarely dropped items. They are things that were allowed to move for hundreds of miles. That makes packing the part of a Gran Canaria move worth paying attention to — either ours, or yours done properly.

The Canary Islands have their own tax regime

Gran Canaria is part of Spain but the Canary Islands do not use mainland Spanish VAT. The Canary Islands government charges its own General Indirect Canary Tax (IGIC) and a tax on imports and deliveries of goods (AIEM). The European Commission notes that the EU treaty allows specific tax measures for outermost regions such as the Canaries.

Household goods sent to the islands are therefore treated differently from a move to the Spanish mainland, and the rules for your particular goods should be checked with the Canary Islands Tax Agency before you ship.

Planning a move to an island

There is no road to Gran Canaria, so the move is planned around the sea leg and the port at each end rather than around driving distance. That is why we quote these moves individually. Tell us your address on the island, your inventory and your preferred date.

Getting a price

European moves are quoted individually rather than from the hourly rate card — the distance, the crossing and the load all move the number. Call us or send the details and we will price it properly.
