Short Notice House Move
“We had originally booked a local firm for our move, but due to a last minute exchange and insane demand for movers, none were available. AFS had a 3-man crew available at short notice who were brilliant and hardworking.”
Drew Harvey
Packing & House Move
“Booking was straightforward and AFS confirmed a few days before. The team turned up on time and were friendly and efficient. They packed up, drove to the delivery address and unpacked again, all with no drama or fuss.”
Alin Necula
European Removals
“We had a slightly complicated move, with our belongings shipped from London to France. AFS Removals team (led by Kim and Lee) were absolutely wonderful. They followed up on every aspect of the move to each country and stayed in touch throughout.”

Man & Van in Hastings: common questions

Do you cover all of Hastings?

Yes. We cover all of Hastings and the rest of East Sussex, and we move people to and from anywhere in the UK. A long-distance move is priced from the same rate card as a local one — it just has more miles on it.

What are your prices for man & van in Hastings?

The same as everywhere we work — our rates do not change by postcode. For example, transit lwb, driver only: £60/hr (2-hour minimum (£120)). Billed for the hours worked, never below the minimum. Mileage between your two addresses and any stairs (£10 per person, per flight, per hour at that address) are added in your written quote. Your itemised written quote arrives within 24 hours.

How far is Hastings from your nearest office?

About 27 miles from our London office. The time in your quote runs from the crew's arrival at your address, and the mileage is worked out from the road distance between your two addresses.

Do I need to arrange parking for moving day in Hastings?

Often, yes. The council rules we have found for Hastings are listed on this page with links to the official pages, including how much notice a parking suspension needs. Tell us what you have arranged when you book, and we plan the vehicle around it.

What is the minimum booking?

Two hours on the Small Transit and Transit LWB. Three hours on the Luton box van and the 5.5 and 7.5 tonne lorries.

Can I book a driver only, with no additional crew?

Yes, where the load allows it. Adding movers changes the hourly rate rather than adding a separate charge.

Is this suitable for a single item?

Yes. A single item, a part-load, or a full van run are all priced the same way — by the hour, plus mileage.
